How can we create stronger connections within the Swiss Maximo community? Our first Roundtable in Zurich demonstrated just how valuable direct exchange among users can be.

With the goal of building a Maximo User Community in Switzerland, we invited our valued customers to the first Maximo Roundtable in Switzerland on May 20th. The event was hosted at IBM’s offices in Zurich and organized in collaboration with IBM, for which we would like to express our sincere thanks.

The central focus was the idea of strengthening networking among Maximo experts, providing information about current developments, and fostering discussion around the transition to the Maximo Application Suite. Our primary objective, however, was to encourage users to engage directly with one another. We were therefore especially pleased to see participants already immersed in lively discussions upon arrival. Additional momentum was created by introducing each customer individually. The discussion centered on questions such as:

  • What does the customer actually do?
  • How do they use Maximo?
  • Which modules and functionalities are in use?
  • What unique approaches or special features are they utilizing that others may not yet have considered?

These questions served as the starting point for lively discussions and numerous valuable interactions among the participants.

The event was rounded out by an IBM overview of the latest developments in Maximo Application Suite, as well as a brief presentation from our team outlining a potential path from Maximo 7 to MAS. During the networking reception that followed, conversations continued in a relaxed atmosphere, existing relationships were strengthened, and new connections were formed.

A noteworthy side story from the evening came from the nearby ice hockey arena. While our event was taking place, Switzerland was facing Austria - the author's home country - in the Ice Hockey World Championship. Switzerland’s decisive 9–0 victory provided an additional topic of conversation and capped off a successful day, one that offered plenty to celebrate for ice hockey fans and Maximo enthusiasts alike.

With so many positive impressions from this event, we are already looking forward to the next gathering, currently planned for the end of October.
