IBM Maximo 7.6 Extended Support
On April 12th, 2022, IBM announced the end of support for all Maximo v7.6.1.x and compatible versions of products, including industry solutions and add-ons. Effective September 30th, 2025, regular base support is no longer provided for Maximo v7.6.1.x customers.

This offering ensures Maximo users benefit from ongoing stability and security, giving them the time and flexibility to plan their transition to the Maximo Application Suite (MAS) without sacrificing the performance or reliability of their existing environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Has IBM’s End of Support date for Maximo 7.6.1.x already passed?
Yes. IBM’s End of Support (EOS) for Maximo 7.6.1.x occurred on September 30, 2025. IBM no longer provides fixes, patches, security updates, or technical support for Maximo 7.6, its industry solutions, or add-ons.
Can organizations still run Maximo 7.6 even though EOS has passed?
Yes. Companies may continue using Maximo 7.6 post-EOS, but they do so without IBM support, which means no new updates, security patches, or fixes—making extended support essential to maintain stability and security.
What support options are available now that Maximo 7.6 is past EOS?
Organizations currently have two paths:
- Naviam Extended Support — for Naviam Cloud customers who want stability, monitoring, disaster recovery, and critical defect mitigation beyond IBM’s EOS.
- IBM Sustained Support — available through September 30, 2030, for customers who meet IBM’s eligibility criteria.
What risks come with staying on Maximo 7.6 now that it is unsupported?
Key risks include:
- Security vulnerabilities with no new IBM patches
- Compliance challenges with industry standards (ISO 55000, OSHA, FDA, NERC CIP)
- Reduced reliability and potential performance issues
- Integration limitations as other enterprise systems evolve
What does Naviam Extended Support include for Maximo 7.6 customers?
Naviam provides:
- 24×7 application monitoring and alerting
- Backup, restore, and disaster recovery
- Guidance on MAS technical upgrades
- Mitigation/workarounds for critical defects
- Access to documentation, technotes, and pre-EOS fixes
- Support for SQL, Oracle, and DB2 platforms
- Case-by-case support for third-party components
Can an on-premise Maximo 7.6 environment still be migrated to Naviam Cloud after EOS?
Often yes, but it depends on licensing. Eligibility varies based on entitlement type (user-based licensing vs. AppPoints). Naviam reviews each case to determine whether migration to Naviam Cloud running Maximo 7.6 is permitted.
What licensing options exist for customers staying on Maximo 7.6 after EOS?
Two BYOL paths now exist:
- With IBM Sustained Support: Customers retain rights to “trade up” existing user-based licenses to MAS AppPoints when ready.
- Without IBM Sustained Support: Customers will need to purchase AppPoints as new licenses during the MAS upgrade.
What versions qualify for upgrading to Maximo Application Suite (MAS)?
To upgrade to MAS, customers must be on:
- Maximo 7.6.1.2 or later, or
- Maximo 7.6.0.10 or later
Upgrading to a supported version is required before moving to MAS, regardless of support status.
